A report from the Amsterdam correspondent of the Exchange Telegraph Company states that one man. believed to Ix* Dutch, was shot dead and a number of Dutchmen were kidnapped at Yelno, on the Netherlands-tierman frontier, tonight during an armed clash, between Oerman officials and Dutchmen. 'The Amsterdam correspondent of the Associated Press of ({real 'Britain states that the inundation of tin* main water defence line through t he cent re of Holland began late to-night. Buses were requisitioned for Ihe evacuation. Trains were curtailed from Amsterdam, apparently owing' to troop movements. New Trenches Along-Albert Canal. The Brussels correspondent of the Exchange Telegraph Agency states that the military to-day took over the main roads and dug new trenches along the -Albert Canal near ■Maastricht. The appendix tongue of Holland between Belgium and Cermany and all the defences of the canal are fully manned. Bridges are mined.
