It is considered to -be too early yet to form any definite conclusion of the effect of ihe increase in postal rates on the volume of mail handled at the chief post office in Auckland. Nevertheless, it is stated that ordinary mail business is being maintained very well in quantity, although there has been a falling off in the weekly sales of health stamps.
