KILLING BEGINS IN H.B.
About 3000 lambs and sheep were dealt with at the Whakatu freezing works on Tuesday, when a start was made with the new season's killing. One line of about 150 lambs from the Mangatahi district was all graded prime quality and averaged over 42 lb. This, with other lots of similar description, indicates that the lambs are much heavier than at this time last year.
