STAMP DUTY EXEMPTION DIVERSION OF MONEY AUTHORITY GRANTED (Prr Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Several amendments to the Patriotic Purposes Emergency Regulations were published with last night’s Gazette. They mostly affect only routine matters such as travelling allowances and expenses for members of the national council and the National Patriotic Fund Board and accounting operations on ihe national patriotic fund accbunt. One regulation, however, exempts from stamp duty cheques and receipts given by any persons or bodies duly appointed under the original regulations, while another provides that centennial organisations may ciontpibute to patriotic funds any moneys not being used for centennial purposes, providing the consent of the Minister has been gained for such transfer. Another measure affecting (he patriotic purposes emergency regulations is also contained in the Gazette. It constitutes a declaration by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, as to what shall be approved patriotic purposes under the regulations. These are defined as the supply during the war of comforts, conveniences and special equipment to members of the naval, military and air forces of Britain or the 'British Dominions or Ihe mandated territories. The declaration applies to national patriotic funds and all provisional patriotic funds established under the regulations.
