GREYHOUND’S TWO MILES The grey trotter Greyhound, who recently made fresh history by reducing the long-standing two-mile record oi Peter Manning from 4.10-I to 4.G, was responsible for a remarkable display of speed and stamina. When , Peter Manning made his record he trotted the first mile in 2.5 - and the second in 1.45; ' while Greyhound trotted each mile in 2.3. Greyhound was at the quarter in 315., half in 1.21, three-quarters in 1.33, mile in. 2.3, mile and a-quarter in 2.33. The sixth quarter was in 31.'sec.. the seventh in 31;isec., and. the eighth in. 30!sec„ a galloper accompanying him the last mile.
