FLOWER SHOW
PATUTAHI W.I. GOOD ENTRIES RECEIVED SUCCESSFUL DISPLAY Tho Patutahi 'Women's Instiluto was favoured with ideal weather when it held its annual flower show in the Patutahi Hall. Owing to splendid gardening weather entries in all classes compared more than favourably with past years. At tho close of the show the president, Mrs. J. Atkins, before presenting the prizes and trophies, thanked the secretary, Mrs. A. Kirkpatrick, judges, stewards and all helpers who luid worked hard to make the show a success. Tho judges were: Roses, sweet peas, and miscellaneous sections; Mr. Caleott. Decorative section; Mrs. Woodrow. Home industries; Mrs. Swain. Cooking: Mrs. Gunn. Needlework and arts and crafts: Mrs. Robinson. Vegetables: Mr. Bilhum. School children's section: Miss M. Dairmid. Tho stewards were: Roses: Alcsdames G. Ballard and J. Libline. Sweet peas: Mrs. D. Campbell. Decorative: Mesdames L. Sefton, E. It. Renner. Miscellaneous: Mesdames O. Thodey and G. Scragg. Home industries: Mrs. Baty. Cooking: Mrs. W. Bryson and Miss M. Atkins. Vegetables: Mrs. P. Saggers. Needlework: Mrs. A. Jones. Arts and crafts: Mesdames J. Robb and A. Waddell. Children’s school section: Mrs. A. Stevens. Novelty stall: Mesdames J. IT. Monteath and F. A. Lange. During the afternoon four competitions were drawn, a cake being won by Mrs. C. E. Robinson, a powder bowl by Mr. Harvey Atkins, a quilted cushion by Miss NT. Atkins, and a Sunday dinner by Mr. C. Scholium.
