Patriotic Maori Women

Having received approval for their activities from the Gisborne-East Coast Provincial Council, the Hoko-whitu-a-Tu committee, a central body representing all the Maori women of the district, has arranged to open its programme of “bring-and-buy” days on November 24. It is proposed that committees from the different areas should conduct sales on the “bring-and-buy” basis at intervals, in premises placed at the disposal of the central committee by Mr. P. Kciha. The site of operations will be the shop formerly occupied by Mr. E. A. Evans, at the lower end of Stout street.
