TWO TRUE BILLS

GRAND JURY’S DECISIONS

Two true bills were returned this afternoon by the grand jury in connection with the two cases under consideration for hearing in the Supreme Court before Mr. Justice Blair. A true bill was found against William Dutton, who was alleged to have indecently assaulted a 12-year-old female.

A true bill was found against Awherata Manuera on a charge of theft, no bills being found against the group of live Maoris, Manuera, Paraone Tuhura, Hilda Taiporutu, 1-loni Nohoaka, and Koka Hauwai, on charges of attempting to defraud a grantee by selling stock subject to security without the consent of the grantee. No case was found against the other four Maoris on charges of theft in the same circumstances as that against Manuera.
