(P«r Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day

In the Supreme Court this morning, Mr. Justice Ostler sentenced the following prisoners:— Charles Henry Smith, for indecent assault on a woman, was granted probation for two years and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution. Reginald Cooper, aged 35, for breaking, entering and theft, was sentenced lo two years' reformative detention.

James Myles Ford, aged 22, for indecent assault, was given 18 months' reformative detention.

An application for a now trial on the grounds that the verdict was against the weight of evidence was dismissed.
