I PARTY FOR BISHOP BEAUTIFUL SETTING (Hurnld Correspondent.) A panoramic view of the hills, mountains and Waiapu Valley, and a garden set in native bush with red and yellow kowhai and many other beautiful flowering shrubs and with flower-beds displaying a wealth of colour, made a charming setting for a delightful party given by Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Williams at their home, “Ngamoc.” Ruatoria, last Friday afternoon, in honour of the Bishop of Waiapu the Rt. Rev. G. V. Gerard, and Mrs. Gerard.
The guests greatly enjoyed a stroll round the beautiful grounds and garden.
Tiie drawing room and dining-room were artistically arranged with bowls of yellow banksian roses, oriental poppies and Iceland poppies and roses. A delicious tea was served.
Regret was expressed at the unavoidable absence of Mrs. G. V. Gerard, Mrs. T. S. WilLiams, and Mrs. A. R. H. Morris. Mrs. Williams welcomed her guests wearing a smart-model frock of sienna brown Angora woolaine with an Oriental scarf, emerald green predominating. Among tiie guests were Mesdames K. S. Williams, A.
