The Berlin correspondent of the Copenhagen paper, Berlingske Tidende, and the Warsaw correspondent of the Osservatore Romano confirm reports that conditions of indescribable misery continue to prevail in Warsaw.
Seventy-five per cent of the buildings have been' razed by bombs, which sometimes passed through six or seven storeys and exploded like a volcano.
Sixty thousand injured people are still in the city. There is a serious shortage of doctors. Thousands of bodies under the ruins, are gravely menacing the health of the city.
German experts say it. might be years before it will be possible accurately to estimate Poland’s losses.
Germany took 710,000 prisoners and Russia 130,000. It is believed that 60,000 fl'cd to Rumania, Lithuania and Latvia. A million people are not accounted lor.
