RESERVE OF OFFICERS
SUPPLEMENTARY LISTS GISBORNE-WAIROA NAMES The following names of GisborneWairoa interest appear in the supplementary list of officers appointed to the reserve of officers for service in the present war:—
Colonel R. F. Gambrill, V.D., Major A. S. Muir. 0.8. E., Major L. V. Porteous, M.8.E., V.D., Captain E. R. Black, M.C., and Lieutenants O. G. Birrell, E. C. Clifton, A. C. Cooke, M.M., and J. 11. McCrea. All the above-named appointees served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the war of 1914-18. Another name which will be known to many of the older residents of Gisborne is that of Lieutenant R. W. Toomath, who spent his youth in this district.
