REVIVAL OF SHOW

BREAK IN 'EIGHTIES Following the abandonment of the 1880 Show, interest was not revived until 1890. when a general meeting decided to resuscitate the society, biit it was agreed that at that time, the middle of August, it was too late to make arrangements for a Show that year, and the effort was postponed until the following year.

Among the cattle, the entries were again small; they were mostly Shorthorns, with a few dairy sorts, but the horse entries were really astonishing, constituting nearly half the total entries in the Show. Pigs were few, but the representation of poultry, ducks and pigeons was very fair. Dairy and, other produce exhibits were not nearly so numerous as might have been expected.
