THE AORANGI STUD FLOCKS The best sires available have been used by Mr. A. Kirkpatrick, Patutahi, for his Aorangi Stud flocks of: Romneys and Southdowns. No expense has been spared in maintaining the flocks, and high prices have been paid for sires of the desired type and quality. The Aorangi Stud has a good Showrecord both locally and in outside districts, and in 1930 a reserve Romney championship was secured at the Royal Show at Tomoana, while a number of Gisborne championships have been won. The Romney dock dates back to 1909. and was descended from ewes obtained from Messrs. Bachelor and Cobbc, Palmerston North. The Aorangi Southdowns are of a more recent origin. This breed was brought into the stud in 1932, when ewes were secured from Mr. J. Knight, Feilding, being added to three years ago by a selection from Messrs. 11. Burrell and Sons’ sale and in 1937 by a son of the imported ram Ford Christian from Mr. R. Perry. Romneys and Southdowns :V \r: 4 t % m m H m m ■■■■■-■ ffi ill 'it 2-th Romney Ram from Aorangi Stud.
