t\ six-vear-olcl deaf and dumb Maori boy. William Pit, was drowned in a creek at Whananaki. North Auckland. The body was discovered among Joes and debris at the side of the pool in about Oft of water. There were abrasions on the forehead and face, and it is assumed that the boy Struck his head on a log when he foil from the bank,
