MOVED TO ATLANTIC
CANADIAN WARSHIPS PROBABLE RECORD TRIP 7000 MILES IN 14 DAYS (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 4. The Canadian Department of National Defence announces the arrival in eastern Canadian waters of two destroyers from their base at Esquimalt, British Columbia.
These vessels have completed what is probably a record passage for the 7000 mile voyage. On two hours notice, the two ships of war set out under orders to proceed to the Atlantic seaboard, and, in spile of one day's delay in making the transit of the Panama Canal and of other halts en route, they covered the distance in 14 days.
This voyage indicates that Canada's navy is maintaining the high traditions of His Majesty’s naval service in preparedness and efficiency.
