STATE MINES IDLE
WEST COAST DISPUTE MEN STOOD DOWN (Pur Press Association.) GREYMOUTII, this day. Trie James and Strongman State mines are both idle to-day as a result of a dispute. Yesterday two truckers at the James mine, who allegedly knocked off early on Wednesday, were stood down for the day. They were accompanied home by 24 workmates. The mine is continuing to work shortstaffed. This morning these 24 men and boys were stood down for the day, with the result that all their workmates returned home. As the Strongman mine utilised the .same rope road, it was automatically rendered idle.
