OBITUARY
MRS. E. MORROW
53 YEARS IN GISBORNE The death occurred in the Cook Hospital last night of Mrs. Elizabeth Morrow, aged 72, widow of the late Mr. Edward Albert Morrow, Gisborne. The deceased had suffered indifferent health since the death of her husband five years ago, but her passing came unexpectedly for she had been a patient in hospital for only a few days.
Mrs. Morrow was born in Poplar, London, and was married to Mr. Morrow at the age of 18 in Essex. Shortly after their marriage the couple came to New Zealand and settled in Gisborne. Mrs. Morrow had resided here for the past 53 years.
The deceased leaves four sons, Messrs. W. G., E. A., and B. Morrow, Gisborne, and Mr. C. T. Morrow, Auckland, and two daughters, Mrs. A. Clayden, Te Karaka, and Mrs. A. O. Hay, Waipaoa, as well as 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A service will be held in Cochrane’s private chapel, Williams street, at 1.45 p.m. to-morrow, prior to the departure of the funeral for the Taruheru cemetery.
MRS. RAMANA POYNTER
(Humid Correspondent.) There passed away in Tikitiki on Monday, Mrs. Ramana Poynter, aged 20 years, widow of the late Mr. Nelson Edwin. Poynter, who died a year ago. Mrs. Poynter was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Puti Rnngi, Tikitiki. She is survived by three young children, a son, and two daughters. Deep sympathy for the parents of the deceased and also for her four young brothers and sister will he felt by the many friends of the family. The funeral took place on Wednesday and was largely attended. The service was conducted by the Rev. P. M. Kohere.
