PERMITS FOR ABSENCE
ENEMY ALIENS IN N.Z. REGULATIONS CHANGED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Enemy aliens in New Zealand now require written permits lo be absent from their registered places of abtxle longer than 24 hours.
This is the general effect of the amended Alien Control Emergency Regulations isued in last night's Gazelle.
The lex I reads: "Every alien who is or al. any time has been a national of any State will) which Ilia Majesty is at. v;ar shall, before leaving his registered place of abode for the time being for any continuous period exceeding 21 hours, obtain from a registration officer in the police district, in which he resides a written permit authorising him to be so absent.”
Applicants shall supply such details of intended absence as may be required.
