NAPIER MEETING
FIELDS FOR SATURDAY LOCALS ENGAGED EXCELLENT PI 105PECTS SINGLE-POOL BETTING By “Trenton” Single-pool betting will operate at the Napier Park meeting to-morrow. Locally-owned and trained horses are engaged in six of the seven events and it will occasion some surprise if the majority of them fail to pay dividends. Queen’s Dream has schooled particularly well and the class is far from strong in the hurdle race. Dusky Morn made a good showing over five furlongs at the local meeting and with a furlong less to travel should be very hard to beat. De Friend is not harshly treated with 9.5 in the Park Stakes, and will have bright prospects. Mimicry will take considerable beating in the Ahuriri Hack, but Okawa may find Nora Gregor a proposition in the Flying Handicap. Native Song is something out of the ordinary, and what beats him should win the County Hack Handicap, although Minnow lias been very lightly treated with 7.7. The following selections may appeal to backers:—
Hack Hurdles: Queen's Dream, Dozio Boy. Maiden Stakes: Flying Flag, River Tide. Juvenile Handicap: Dusky Morn, Black Out. Park Stakes: De Friend, Skyway. Ahuriri Hack: Mimicry, Royal Spades.
