The Bermuda correspondent of the New York Times says that the Admir- ( ally confirms that a submarine attacked a tramp steamer ofT Nova Scotia. Details were not disclosedIt was believed, however, that the vessel was the British freighter Coulmore, which was earlier reported to have wirelessed for he.lp, stating that she had sighted a submarine. Revised estimates give the vessel’s position as ÜBO miles due east of New York. Two coastguard aeroplanes were forced to turn back from the search owing to bad weather after reaching the neighbourhood.
