TE HAPARA SCHOOL
USE OF TENNIS COURTS APPLICATION MADE An application for the use of the school tennis courts was received at the monthly meeting of the Te Hapara School Committee on Monday night After giving the matter consideration, the committee instructed the secretary. Mi'. W.'D. Tarr, to call a public meeting or next Monday evening to form a tennis club. The meeting was presided over by Mr. W. T. Traue, and there was a good attendance. The headmaster, Mr. B. Anderson. icportod that (Ik- roll number was •'i7fi. with an average attendance for the month of 457. The statement of accounts for the annual school ball showed the net proceeds to be JJ 'IS lis 7d. Warm appreciation of the support given by parents was expressed by members of the committee and the thanks of the committee were extended to the ladies' committee and the teaching staff for their co-opera-tion. Following (lie committee meeting, members of the ladies' committee were entertained at a social gathering. Songs were sung by Mesdames Coloman and Morrow, and Messrs. Thodey and Goldsmith, recitations given by Messrs. Jack Lyle and Norman Lee, and a musical item by Mr. Nunns. Mrs. Elliott played the accompaniments, and at the close o 7 the evening an excellent supper was served.
