HIGHER PAY SOUGHT
MARITIME WORKERS AUSTRALIAN VESSELS (Reed. Nov. 1, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 31. A demand for an increase of 20 per cent in wages has been made by the Seamen’s Union and other maritime organisations for all members of crews in inter-State ships and vessels serving New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and Australia which are controlled by the Commonwealth Navigation Act.
About 1500 employees are involved
