AUSTRALIAN POSITION (Reed. Nov. 1, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 31. The Federal Cabinet sitting at Sydney to-day, appointed Mr. Daniel McVey as Director-General of Posts and Telegraphs in succession to Sir Harry Brown, who lias accepted a lucrative appointment with a city electrical house.
