NEW AWARD CLAIM

WORKERS IN BREWERIES (Per Pri-ss Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Conciliation Council met today to discuss the proposed award for brewery workers in all districts, except Nelson, Otago and Southland. Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, the employers advocate, referred to it as the first award that could be termed a Dominion award. The employers wanted to make it clear that they were not in a position to offer any increase in wages, and had tried, in the counterproposals, to keep as closely as possible to present award conditions.
