Pearson last Friday afternoon in honour of Miss Gwen Delany, who has been spending several months as the guest of Mrs. Pearson and who during this time has taken a keen interest in the Guidos and was extremely popular with them.
Miss Delany was the recipient of several gifts from the Guides, and the ladies’ committee presented her with a beautiful crystal violet vase.
Games were played during the afternoon and before leaving the trio of Maori girls present sang the Maori farewell song. The Guides present were Mercia Fouhy, Pauline Bell, Molly Green, Eileen Ehau, Chrissie Matenga, Audrey Walters, June Green, Sarah Ehau, Marie Briffault, Freda Ellis, Maudie Jackson, Iris Cameron, Pat Muir, and Leila Funnell.
Three members of the Guides Company who sent exhibits into Gisborne for final choice for display at the Centennial Exhibition each had their entries accepted.
