Meetings on Holidays
The inconvenience caused to country members by holding meetings on days when tire banks and professional offices were closed was brought to the attention of the Gisborne Harbour Board to-day by Mr. If. J. F. Tombicson, who pointed out that country members had to come in to Gisborne for meetings and could do nothing else while in town. He suggested that when ordinary meeting dates coincided with bank holidays, the meetings should be automatically transferred until the following day, unless special arrangements were made. The" chairman, Mr. A. J. Nicoi, commented th;it town members would be glad enough to fall in with the coun-l-v members' convenience, and the suggestion was adopted.
