CATERERS’ STORES
WOMEN’S SHOW EFFORT
SPECIAL-DEMAND ITEMS
YOUNG HELPERS WANTED
Tiie response to the appeal of the Poverty Bay Women's Central Representation Committee for assistance in making the Show catering effort a successful one on behalf of patriotic funds, has been exceptionally good. The committee is assured now of a large portion of the stocks of comestibles which will be required to cater for the Show crowds on November 7 and 8.
Items for which there is a xpecial demand include cream, new potatoes, md poultry. The committee will be pleased to receive contributions of any one or all of these items, which will be among the staples of the luncheon menus.
The aid of young women and girls in waiting on the tables will be much appreciated, and an effort is being made to enlist sufficiently large numbers of volunteers to cover the necessities of the two days. The committee has to arrange for relays of waitresses, cooks, and general kitchen workers, and is arranging the schedules of duties in such a way that if in individual helper is not able to give more than two or tiiree hours, her services can be used to the best advantage.
It is the intention of the organisers of the effort that there should be no deductions from the gross proceeds from the catering effort. None of the people who give services will be paid from the funds” raised; and if a sufficient number of volunteers- can be enrolled, the duties of each will be reduced to one relay for only one day
