PLENTIFUL SUPPLY
FIREWORKS IN GISBORNE WIDE VARIETY HELD In view of experiences in Gisborne in recent years it is claimed that there is a pleniful supply of fireworks available for the youth of the district with which to celebrate Guy Fawke’s Day on November (i, the correct date this year being a Sunday. Although it was thought that quotas of lireworks would have been seriously reduced owing to the import restrictions, that was not the case to any serious degree arid supplies have been secured from China and Britain of the usual wide variety. Speaking of the sale of fireworks in the past few years, a businessman said to-day that there had been a slight decline in the sale of crackers compared with the position several years ago when orders for £lO and £ls lots were by no means rare. For the most part now purchasers ordered small selections and it was riot profitable to carry large stocks of expensive fireworks. It was learned that the Gisborne ThirtyThousand Club still had a quantity of sets, fireworks, and rockets that would make a splendid showing on the night of the carnival at the Waikanac Beach.
