PURCHASE OF LAND
STAFF ACCOMMODATION TENDERS FOR SUPPLIES To-day's meeting of the Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board was the first at which full attendance of members had been recorded since the strength of that authority was increased to 12 members. Those present were Messrs. F. R. Ball, chairman, H. TI. DeCosta, Chas. Matthews, A. A. Fraser, C. W. Izod, S. H. Phillips, J. E. Benson, J. H. Hall, T. Corson, M T. Trafford, B. J. Holdsworth, and Chas. Mills, with the managing-secre-tary, Mr. R. P. Baigent, and the engineer, Mr. F. Matthewson, in attendance.
The finance committee reported that it had received and considered a copy of an order in-council authorising the board to take land in Carnarvon street under the Public Works Act for additional store and garage accommodation. The managing-secre-tary had been directed to advertise the order-in council in accordance with the requirements of the Act. The committee approved a sketch plan of the additional accommodation to be provided under the Carnarvon street acquisition scheme. Authority had been given to the chairman and the executive officers to accept a tender for the supply of 100 30-gnllon hot-water cylinders, quoted by Messrs. Plumbers, Limited, at £5 lGs net, delivered in Gisborne, if the cylinders were of an approved design
