SECOND ESCHELON
N.Z. SPECIAL FORCE OFFICERS APPOINTED CALLED UP FOR NOV. 8 TWO GISBORNEITES Two names of Gisborne officers appear in the list of commissioned officers called upon for service with the second eschelon of the Special New Zealand Military Force, They are Captain W. Bourke and Lieutenant K. R. S. Crarer, both of the Hawke's Bay Infantry Regiment, with lengthy service in the territorial forces.
The officers of the second eschelon will go into camp on November 8, and will undertake a refresher course under. staff men in preparation for taking over units as the rank and file of the eschelon enters camp a week or 10 days later. The officers announced by the Army Department are:

The Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board to-day offered its congratulations to Captain W. Burke, its accountant, on his selection as one of the officers in the second eschelon of the Special New Zealand Military Force.
