Eastern Tasman: Fresh to strong south-west winds and rough seas, but wind and sea gradually decreasing. Weather: Rain probable in the North Island and in eastern and southern districts of the South Island, but conditions improving gradually from south and west. Temperatures: Cool to cold, with some snow on the ranges and frosts likely to-night inland in Canterbury and Otago. v To-day’s North Island Report Cooler temperatures prevailed throughout the North Island to-day. with Napier topping the list with 58 degrees and Cape Palliser returning the lowest reading, 94 degrees.
