WAIROA FIXTURE DISTRICT HIGH OUTING CHAMPIONSHIP LIST (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. Magnificent weather conditions favoured the annual sports meeting conducted by the Wairoa District High School at the Lambton Square sports ground on Wednesday. A lengthy programme was run off with no apparent loss of time, the teaching staff being assisted in this respect by Messrs. Fish, Ratcliife and Doig. excellent service also being given by Mesdames Fish, Pilkington, Wallace and Ratcliffe.
In the secondary department F. deLautour. with 121 points, secured major honours in the boys' events, G. Sutherland. 12 points, being second, and G. Long. 7i points, third. The girls’ championship was won by N. Marshall, with 11 points, L. Lambert, 10, and P. Hinckesman, seven, being second and third respectively. Tainui, with 101 points, won the house championship, Aotea being second with 90. The principal results were:—
