GRAHAM QUINN

EYES ON QUARTER-MILE

Graham Quinn, former New Zealand 100 and 220yds track champion and Empire Games representative, who turned his attention, seriously to quarter-rniling last season, still hopes to capture the national 440yds title before he retires from running. Quinn was disappointed at Napier in March, when he was disqualified in his heat of the 440yds for allegedly stepping out of his "lane. Although not a true 440yds man —lie is inclined to overstride, Quinn nevertheless is a fine

athlete, and if lie runs at least as well as he did when he took the Wellington title last season lie will be right up with the best of them this summer. Quinn says lie is introducing a younger brother lo athletics, and he thinks he will be better than himself. If there should be anything in the prediction, then the younger Quinn •will be a fine acquisition to athletics, states a Wellington report.
