RECENT N.Z. VISITOR

NAVY INQUIRY MEMBER

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day.

. Advice has been received by the Government of the death at sea on board the Port Hunter on September 22, of Mr. C. M. Bruce, who visited New Zealand in August as a member of the committee dealing with naval pay and allowances. His death was due to heart failure and the burial took place at sea.

In making the announcement to-day, the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, expressed the regret of the Government and himself at Mr. Bruce’s death.
