MARKET CONFIDENCE
(Reed. Oct. 26, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 25
The confidence of the London Stock Exchange is well maintained. Giltedged stocks are firmer all round. There is considerable buying of Australian and New Zealand stocks. Australian 5 per cent stocks touched £IOO 5s and New Zealand 4i per cent 1948-58 £B6 15s. The financial editor of the Daily Mail suggests that the demand may be iue to the idea that history may repeat itself and that the value of exports will rise substantially as it did during the last war.
