At a meeting this week the Wairoa Cricket Association closed the nominations of teams for the current season, live' nominations, including one from the newly-formed Retailers Cricket Club being accepted. Recommendations offered by tlae annual meeting were accepted by the nine cleleg it as present and it was decided to play one-day matches. Three points will be awarded for an outright win. two .'or a first innings win. and one for a d'-.tw or a tie.

To avoid past confusion it was decided to number the wickets on the Clyde Domain, the wicket at the southern or Campbell street end to be No. i and alwiys to have the use of the long mat. The first-named team in each draw will be the home team and will provide the gear. Practice nights were allotted to Swifts and Retailers on Wednesday nights and Roy?rs and Nomads were given Tuesd iv and Thursday nights, with alternate use of the net. Five nomination::, from Nomads, Swifts. Rovers, High School and Retailers cricket club-;, were received for the Hopper Shield series and the draw was made as follows: — First Round

October 23. Nomads v. High School, No. 1 wicket: Swifts v. Rovers, No. 2 wicket: Retailers, a bye. November 4.—Swifts v. Retailers. No. 1: Nomads v. Rovers. No. 2: High School, a oye.

November 11.--Rovers v. High School. No. 1; Nomads v. Retailers, No. 2; Swills, a bye.
