OPENING OF SEASON
MANY VISITORS PRESENT
APPEAL. FOR MEMBERS

At the- official opening of the Tolaga Day Bowling Club's season, a good •nuster of Giibo'ne, Tokomrru Bay, and local bowlers took part in an enjoyable afternoon's play The weather was fine, with a keen wind blowing. The green was slightly heavy on account of the recent rain, but son - good bowling was seen. The president of the Tolaga Pay Club, Mr. W. :I. Bradley, warmly welcomed the visiting bowlers and thanked the ladies for the delightful afternoon tea, and for their valuable services to the club. He apnea led to Tolaga Bay residents to join the club. Mr. A. 'flight, president of the Gisborne centre, thanked Mr. Bradley and the members of the club for the hourly welcome and wished the club a successful ,-eason. As Mrs. Bradley bowled the first bowl, the season was officially declared open. Results were:—Ansel), Cockerv, Falcone, Harries (s) 22 v. Beattie, Savage, Oliver, Blackourn Is) 23; R.
