Theft of Rifle by Youth

The theft of a .22 calibre rifle by one youth and its use by three boys to the disturbance of the neighbourhood in which they lived was the cause of a series of charges brought against the youths when they appeared to-day before Mr. J. H. LuxL'ord, S.M., and an associate J.P., Mrs. Ada E. Beer, in the Children's Court. The prosecution was conducted by Senior-Sergeant J. F. H. Macnamara, who said that the rifle was valued at E 7 5s and was the property of a Gisborne firm. I) had been hidden in some scrub and had suffered from its exposure to the elements.
