HIGHEST SURPLUS
S. BRITISH INSURANCE (Prr Pr«3s Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. “Our operations have resulted in a surplus of £128,119, the highest return we have yet been able to show, but it is no more than you have a right to expect upon steadily increasing business under favourable conditions," said Mr. W. R. Wilson, chairman of directors, at tho annual meeting of shareholders of the South British Insurance Company.
He added that business was very active in till fields. The new branches established during the past year or two were providing a profitable addition to tile premium income. An office had been opened at Alexandria, Egypt, with one of the firm’s own trained men in charge, with general oversight of operations in the Near East. Active business was still done in China and Japan. The retiring directors were reappointed.
