Last Night’s Forecast General situation: An anticyclone is moving ■•'lowly eastwards off the North Island, while the last of a series of depressions has commenced to cross the South Island. Forecast: Unsettled in western districts south of Taranaki and in the far south with rain tit times, otherwise fair o cloudy but becoming showery and colder with the southerly change, conditions improving later in Westland. To-day’s North Island Report Overcast conditions prevailed along the east coast this morning, except at Tauranga and Gisborne, where blue skies were reported. Light northerly winds were general. Temperatures at !) a.m. were: Auckland 01 degrees, Tauranga 63, Opotiki 59, East Cape 00, Gisborne 50, Napier 53 and Wellington 51. Seas were smooth to moderate.
