AIR RAID ON CONVOY ROYAL OAK INQUIRY VIVIAN ON SUNKEN SHIP (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Oct. 25, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 23. The Rotterdam correspondent o! The Times says that no word has been published in Berlin about the German air attack on a British convoy in the North Sea on Saturday. He concluded that the failure was even worse ' than the British communique suggests. The report of a sea battle ofl the north oh Jutland on Sunday has not been confirmed. The explosion of German mines is believed to have misled the narrators of the story. A communique issued by the Ministry of Information states an inquiry into the sinking of the battleship Royal Oak at Scapa Flow is proceeding. The German statements that another ship was simultaneously torpedoed is without foundation. Passengers on the sunken liner Yorkshire included H. G. Vivian, the
New Zealand cricketer, whose fate is not yet known.
