GISBORNE DEFENCE CLUB FIRST HANDICAP SERIES E. SODERSTEN'S SUCCESS The first monthly series of handicap shoots was concluded by members of the Gisborne Defence Rifle Club on the Mangapapa range on Saturday, when the week's matches at 500yds. and 600yds. were shot off, the attendance being good and some sound scoring being registered. At 500yds. E. Sodersten registered the possible of 50 points, and R. Bull was second in the list with 49, F. J. Jeune being third with 48. At 600yds. T. Park topped the list with 48, and F. Jeune was second with 47. The week's match went to E. Sodersten (hep, 2) with a gross total of 97 for the two ranges, T. Park, handicap 2, scoring next with 96, and R. Burson, handicap 4, being third with a similar total. Three other marksmen, A. Thomas, T. Dolman and R. Bull, alio returned gross totals of 96. The aggregate for the first series jf shoots at four ranges with a maximum of 200 points was also won by Sodersten, whose gross aggregate was 193. A. Thomas, handicap 13, was placed second with 192 and T. Dolman. aggregating 192, including a handicap of 10, was placed third Details:- •
