NAZIS ENLIST DICKENS
ATTACK ON ENGLAND LONDON, Oct. 10. German propaganda, apparently tired of concentrating against individuals, now insists that the English character generally is deplorable It seeks to prove the point by quoting from the works of Charles Dickens. The Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung declares that Mr. Squeers, of Dothcboys Hall, “is a classic symbol of that English hypocrisy which hounded the Polish nation to destruction in order to annihilate Hitlerism.”
Quilp is portrays as a typical blockade organiser, “closely resembling Churchill."
