A lengthy discussion took place on a proposed new scale of charges submitted by the dispensaries, and it was eventually, adjourned until the next meeting, when the views of a gicater proportion of members should oe made known.

Brother vV. Michie was appointed to the committee of the indoor bowling organisation.

Letters To i the Loyal Opotiki Lodge expressed thanks for the hospitable treatment of members of that lodge on their recent visit to Gisborne lor the anniversary of the Gisborne lodge. In this connection. Brother John Moyridge, P.G., also forwarded a 7iot.e of thanks for the kindness shown 'o him personally. Members regretted to learn that Brother Mogridge had beea ill since ::is return home, with a painful though not serious indisposition.

The group oflic’-r Brother F. T. Robinson, P.G.. gav; an interesting address to the meeting on the emblems of the order, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the speaker. The report in respect of sick members was unusually lengthy, ar/t £SO was voted to cover sick benefits for the period, this being much higher than the average for this time of the year. It was reported that several lodge cases had left hospital during the past fortnight, and were receiving treatment in their homes. The secretary notified ‘.lie meeting that nominations for lodge officers would be received af the next lodge meeting.
