RATIONING OF FOOD
POSITION IN GERMANY BIG REDUCTIONS MADE
(Reed. Oct .23, 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 21. The United States commercial attache in Berlin reports that food rationing in Germany has reduced the consumption of meat and butter by nearly one-half and other edible fats by one-fourth, compared with peacetime. Restrictions on textiles, clothing and footwear have resulted in almost complete stagnation of retail sales.
