Mrs. M. Mossman, To Ilapnra, who was a teacher at the Napier District School, is visiting Napier for (he school diamond jubilee celebrations. 'Mr, W. Osier was elected a member of the Wniroa Chamber of Commerce at the Ititest meeting of the council of the chamber.—Special.

Mr. Noel C. Pettit. Gisborne, has been granted a temporary commission as acting pilot officer while undergoing training with the Royal Now Zealand Air Force. He has been posted to the R.N.Z.A.F. station at Wigram. The resignation of Mr. R. King as secretary to the Wniroa Chamber or Commerce was received with regret by the council of ihe chamber at its monthly meeting. Mr. King has resigned because of the pressure of his studies. Tributes to his work were paid by several speakers. Mr. S. M. Ash burn will act as secretary in the meantime. —Special. Flight Lieutenant L. H Brake, who conducted passenger flights at Gisborne in 1921 and 1922, and who probably took many residents on their first aeroplane trips, has been transferred from the retired to the active list of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. He has been appointed a Hying officer attached to the general duties branch of the service. Flight Lieutenant J. W. H. Loti also has been transferred to the active list and posted to the general duties branch.
