WAIROA WEDDING

KENT—MAY CHARMING FROCKS St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Wairon, was the scene of a very pretty wedding when Edith. Florence, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. May, Ruakituri, was married to Arthur Raymond, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Kent, also of Ruakituri. The Rev, Mr. Finch performed the ceremony, and Mrs. Finch officiated at ihe organ. The hymn, "O Perfect Love,” was sung. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, looking charming in a cream figured satin gown with cowl neck'iinc, high peaked front and fitting skirt falling gracefully irito a long pointed train. She also wore a hip-length tulle veil, held in place with a halo of pearls and orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of lily of the valley, roses and stock, intermingled with maidenhair fern

Tile bridesmaids. Miss Audrey Reid, chief, and Miss Myra May, sister of '■ho bride, looked lovely in pale blue pastel shaded floral Fergonecn with green underslip, heart-shaped neckline, and high-pointed front falling gracefully into very full circular skirts with slight pointed train. In her hair each wore a halo of pink and blue flowers. They carried pink horse-shoe bouquets of roses, carnations, and stock, intermingled with maidenhair fern. The duties of best man were ably carried out bv Mr. Charlie Shields, and Mr. George Mayo was the groomsman.

Tlie bride's mother wore a navy blue floral frock with navy hip-length coat and navy accessories to match. She carried a red bouquet of roses and ranunculas. The bridegroom’s mother wore a brown and gold floral frock with brown accessories to match. She carried a bouquet of bronze and' gold ranunculas.

The reception was held at Osier's tea rooms, the guests being received by Mrs. May and Mrs. Kent The tables looked very attractive, as also did the three-tiered wedding cake, which had been made by the bride’s mother. The numerous and beautiful presents were viewed by many at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Deacon.

Mr. and Mrs. A. It. Kent intend making their home in Whakatane.
