ABOVE LAST YEAR

ENTRIES FOR SHOW BIG RUSH TO-DAY Judging by the manner in which entries are being received at present, the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association is hoping to_ create a record for its Show on November 8 and 9. A special effort is being made this year in view of the celebration of the diamond jubilee next month, and the secretary, Mr. W. E. Chamberlain, stated to-day that up to last night the entries received were considerably above those at the corresponding period last year, while there was the usual big last-day rush to-day. Last year’s entries totalled 3021, that being the fourth occasion when the number had exceeded 3000. The total of 32G1 in 1034 still stands as the record, but if this month's rush of entries was sustained a record should be created this year.
