A dispatch sent yesterday by the correspondent of the New York Times at Shanghai stated that advices received by usually reliable foreign circles in Chungking reported that a large Soviet military mission had arrived in Chungking from Moscow, the Party travelling in five aeroplanes. The mission consists of many experts and advisers on aerial, tank, artillery and infantry matters. The report of its arrival caused consternation, in Japanese circles.

The Shanghai correspondent of the United Press of America says that rumours in circulation in connection with the Russian delegation to Chungking are that China and Russia may shortly sign a military alliance.
